This practical workshop focuses on how community orchardists can make the most of their harvest by preserving fresh fruit and creatively using secondary fruit. Participants will learn basic preservation methods such as freezing, drying, and simple processing, along with safe handling and storage tips. The session will also explore options for cosmetically imperfect or surplus fruit—including community distribution, value-added products, and partnerships that reduce waste and increase access. Designed for stewards of all experience levels, this workshop emphasizes realistic, low-cost strategies that fit the capacity and mission of community orchards.
